Questions
How much does it cost?
Individual sessions cost £55 and last for an hour.
Couples counselling costs £55 per hour, or £75 for an hour and a half.
Payments can be paid by cash, bank transfer or credit/debit card.
What happens when I first contact you?
We will normally have a brief chat on the phone and you can tell me about the issues that you want to bring to counselling. I will explain how I work and what I think would be the best way for us to work on this together. There is no obligation to book an appointment at that time.
However, if you do wish to take things further, we can then book a first appointment to meet at a time that is convenient to you.
Is it confidential?
Yes, however there are some limited exceptions to confidentiality, for instance if there is an immediate risk of harm to yourself or others. We can discuss this in more detail during our initial meeting.
How often are the sessions?
In order to get the most out of therapy, it works better if you can commit to weekly sessions (at least initially), however I understand that cost may be an issue. During the first meeting we can discuss this and work out a frequency plan that is right for you, but still allows you to get the most out of the sessions.
Some people find just a few sessions helpful, whereas others find the experience of longer term work beneficial.
